Coffee, Records and Books
I'll be honest, the only reason I had heard of Troy before Samantha and Elliot suggested it for their engagement session was because once upon a time Mumford & Sons played a show there that I wanted to see. (I sadly did not see them in concert there.) While I wasn't familiar with Troy, Samantha and Elliot had done a lot of exploring and going on dates so it was quite a special place. Add in the fact that Samantha was excited that the town would be decorated for Christmas when we were able to schedule their engagement session, it seemed like a no brainer to go to Troy. We met at the cutest coffee shop, grabbed some coffee and got to work! I love when whoever I am capturing brings props. These two made my day when Samantha pulled out her copy of Pride & Prejudice and Elliot grabbed his drumsticks. After spending some time at the coffee shop, we walked across the town square to a used book store that had a super cool record section in the basement and some cute alcoves. Once we were done flipping through records we headed out for the big decorated Christmas trees a little farther down only to find they were not lit up! Seeing as it was already nearing the end of our session, I snapped a few photos and then we moved on. The last building we captured photos at I'm told is the big spot for prom and other special occasion photos. We were all a little chilly and happy with what we had been able to accomplish in our time together, we were all still a little bummed that the Christmas trees weren't lit up. But as we were walking back to our cars the lights flickered to life and we grabbed a few last shots in front of the lights!
