A Cold Weather Dream


For a photographer based in Ohio, I do a large amount of my work in Pittsburgh. Most of the time I have found myself venturing out for a single session, whether that be a wedding day or engagement shoot. But every once in a while, the stars align and I am able to serve two of my amazing clients in one weekend! While I was in Pittsburgh for The Gindharts lovely wedding, I was able to spend some extra time in the city to capture Layla and Joe. The Carnegie Art Museum already seemed like a natural choice for Layla and Joe seeing as they had spent so much time in various museums on the east coast as they dated. But even more special is that being from Pittsburgh, Layla had spent a large amount of time at the Carnegie Art Museum in particular. And since it was the end of December we all welcomed the opportunity to capture their engagement out of the elements. We walked all over the museum capturing different photos and it was so fun having Layla there to guide us and point out spots that were special to her!


I had seen a good number of photographers post photos from their various sessions at this museum, so having the opportunity to shoot her myself was definitely a dream come true and a location marked off my photography bucket list! Whether you're a photographer looking for a unique place to shoot, a couple looking for a cute date or a family in the city wanting to explore somewhere new, I cannot recommend the Carnegie Art Museum highly enough. I hope to make it back again someday with more couples and families!
